Music icons Melanie C and Jax Jones are bringing a familiar UK sound to the Middle East this winter.
With many connections between the United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), both countries continue to share many cultural and athletic events. In addition to being the site of the largest athletic event in the region, the upcoming Dubai 7s will feature many well-known British acts. The three-day event will take place at The Sevens Stadium from November 27-29. The event promises to be a huge celebration of both athletics and music. Those who have traveled from the UK or live abroad will find that the most recent announcement includes several well-known British acts. Two of those acts are Melanie C and Jax Jones. Both will headline the popular “Beats on 2” stage.
Melanie C is probably one of the most well-known artists in Britain today. After becoming famous as a member of the Spice Girls, she has sold over 100 million records worldwide. More recently, she has performed at the TCS London Marathon and held a residency at Pacha Ibiza. On Saturday, November 28, Melanie C will perform her signature mix of house, techno, and euphoric club classics at the Dubai 7s entertainment lineup. On Sunday, November 29, another well-known act will join the weekend’s lineup. That act is Jax Jones. Since releasing his first single which reached number one on the UK charts in 2014, Jax Jones has received nine billion streams and has been nominated for multiple Brit Awards and Grammy Awards. His appearance at the Dubai 7s adds a unique and contemporary London club vibe to the festival.
“We are hugely excited to announce Melanie C and Jax Jones, two incredible artists, as part of this year’s entertainment line up. While the sporting action is, of course, a pivotal part of Emirates Dubai 7s, the event has become about so much more. It is a three day festival of entertainment and we know those fans attending always look forward to watching some of the music industry’s biggest names perform at The Sevens Stadium.”
-Mathew Tait, Festival Director
The event kicks off the HSBC SVNS 2027 season but the attraction goes way beyond the rugby pitch. In addition to the professional matches, there are also amateur competitions in netball, cricket, padel, and Gaelic football for the first time ever. Attendees wishing to enhance their experience at the Dubai 7s can purchase new VIP tickets specifically created for the Beats on 2 area. These tickets allow you to enter the venue, view from prime locations and receive exclusive drinks service while enjoying performances by these British legends. Tickets to attend the entire weekend can be purchased through the official website emiratesdubai7s.com.
